Join us this month for a Shonte take on comfort food, Chili.
Ingredients:
2 pkg. McCormick Seasoning Mix (Or whichever brand you can find, you can choose original, mild, or spicy)
1 lb. lean ground beef,turkey, or vegan meat
1 can (14 ½ oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained or 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce.
2 cans (15 to 16 oz.) kidney beans (1 light and 1 dark)undrained
Assorted Toppings: shredded cheese, chopped onions, jalapenos or sour cream
1 pack of Ritz Crackers
Tools:
1 large skillet pan
Cutting board
Chef knife
Large Spoon
1 large Sauce/soup pan
Directions:
BROWN meat in a large skillet on medium-high heat.
Transfer the meat into a large saucepan, STIR in Seasoning Mix, either 1 can of diced tomatoes or 2 cans of tomato sauce, plus both cans of kidney beans (1 light and 1dark) undrained.
Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with toppings and eat with Ritz crackers, if desired.
