The Bookies: June Discussion on Cutting for Stone.

The Bookies will meet every two (2) months on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 PM PT (4 PM ET). Our first book club meeting will be on June 1, 2022! Our facilitated discussion will be for one hour on Zoom. Our hope is that this will be a casual, free-form discussion, and the facilitator will help get us going and keep us going. We have set up a private group for The Bookies – it can be found at the top of the home page under “group list.” Just submit a request to join, and one of the admins will respond. Here you can begin to get to know each other and share comments and thoughts during the weeks between books.

As mentioned, historical fiction was the clear winner in our survey. Based on that, we have selected Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese as our first read. It is available as an audiobook, Kindle, and paperback. We would love to have enough people to keep the conversation lively and hope that you will join us. We understand that time can get away from us, so we would encourage you to attend even if you haven’t been able to finish the book (spoiler alert) since this is all about community and to have an opportunity to be together. “See” you on June 1st.
