About the Event
Spinning Science Series for MBC. (please read this in its entirety)
Knowledge is power and will help you become a better advocate for yourself (or others). In this series of workshops we will work to understand some basics of MBC as well as molecular biomarkers (like DNA and proteins) in order to better understand our pathology reports, biomarkers, and some available treatments, including clinical trials. Finally, we will give you tools that will enable you to find the high quality health information you need.
Each interactive workshop will last an hour and 30 minutes with about 15 minutes of pre work (to introduce you to the topic and pick up some basic information) and 15 minutes of post work, applying what we have learned. We will meet Wednesdays starting February 7th at 7 pm ET/6pm CT/5pm MT/4pm PT on Zoom for 5 sessions, with an added BONUS 6th session to be announced at a later date. We hope you can make every session, but know things happen! If you attend the first session we will also send you a Project Life Spinning Science binder to organize your notes, pdf's, and worksheets.
Those who attend ALL sessions will be awarded a certificate of completion.
(recorded sessions, notes, worksheets are only for participants who are registered and attend 70% of classes)
Registration is open fromJanuary 2nd and closes on January 16th. We can only take 20 participants.
IMPORTANT! Seats will be given through a lottery system and not first come, first served, to allow everyone to have a fair chance of getting a slot. Lottery will be held on January 17th and those whose names have been chosen, will be contacted on the 17th and will have 72 hours to confirm their spot. If spot is not confirmed, we will draw another name, and we will continue until all seats are confirmed.
We ask that you check dates on your calendar to make sure you are able to attend atleast 75% of the sessions.
Disclaimer! We are not medical doctors or oncologists; this is for informational purposes only. Always talk to your doctor!
