About the Event
Come join the New Year Dance Party.
Thousands of years ago, our ancestors understood the mind-body-spirit connection. They utilized dance among other art modalities as healing arts. Living with MBC can give us a feeling that our body has betrayed us. In these sessions, we will explore movement and dance as a way to reconnect with our bodies. We will use our natural healing power through movement to reclaim our bodies in a way that renews us with strength and power.
Through movement we can express our grief, loss, confusion, fears, happiness, joy, our fearlessness, courage and victories. Movement is action and action is needed to create change and transformation. We have the tools to begin healing ourselves as we allow our doctors to work on a cure or life sustaining treatment. Movement begins where you are at. Each of us are unique and therefore so are our cancer cells. Your story is intrinsically connected to your unique cancer and cancer cells that are living in your body. Only you can move in a way that will help to heal the cells that your body has created. Dance to keep your spirit alive and living in its fullest expression.
No dance experience is necessary. Just be open to the possibilities of renewing your life force through this holistic and creative approach.
MBCmoves!’s mission is to provide a space for healing in the metastatic
breast cancer community through therapeutic movement and dance.
MBCmoves! reflects the understanding of the body-mind-spirit
interconnection and utilizes the power of the healing arts to further self-
expression, healing and personal growth as a way of enhancing the quality
of life (QOL) for “the whole person” living with MBC.
